Bret Bergman

Chief Executive Officer

Qcept Technologies Inc.

Bergman has served Qcept Technologies in a number of capacities since joining the start-up in 2002, including fundraising resulting in $35 million and guiding Qcept's focus on the semiconductor equipment market.  Prior to that, he was managing partner of Bergman & Associates, a venture and consulting firm for early-stage technology companies. Before founding that firm, Bergman was chief operating officer at Nexchange Corp., an early stage e-commerce service provider. Earlier in his career, he served as vice president of marketing and strategy/managed services for Internet Security Systems Inc., and as engagement manager for McKinsey & Co.  He serves on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Speech School. 

Bergman received a B.S. degree in marketing from the University of Vermont and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Steven Danyluk, Ph.D., Founder

Director of Manufacturing Research Center

Georgia Institute of Technology

Danyluk is an expert in the development of sensors for the detection of surface chemistry and metrology and holds multiple patents. He has an extensive background in semiconductor materials science and began his career as a staff member at Texas Instruments in 1973. He holds the Morris M. Bryan Jr. Chair in Mechanical Engineering for Advanced Manufacturing Systems and is Director of the Manufacturing Research Center at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to joining Georgia Tech, he was the founding Director of the Manufacturing Research Center at the University of Illinois.

Danyluk received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Delaware and his Ph.D. from Cornell University in Materials Science and Engineering.

I. Sigmund "Sig" Mosley

President

Imlay Investments, Inc.

Mosley is President of Imlay Investments, Inc., the personal investment company of John P. Imlay, Jr..  Previously, he was a Vice President for Management Science America, Inc. (now Dun & Bradstreet Software Services, Inc.) where he directed the company's finance and accounting functions. Additionally, Mosley has worked for Peat Marwick & Mitchell as a staff accountant.  Sig also serves on the board of directors of Contract Packaging, Inc.; eQuorum Corporation, Invistics Corporation; Kelly Registration, Inc.; Photobooks, Inc.; Pramana, Inc, and Skyway Software.  In addition, Mosley is a director of The Imlay Foundation, Inc., Techbridge, and Entrepreneurs Foundation of the Southeast, as well as GATV and TAG.

Mosley received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Emory University.

 

Paul H. O'Neill

Director

Eastman Kodak Company

O'Neill is a Special Advisor and Consultant to The Blackstone Group and a member of the firm's Domestic Advisory Board, with a focus on advising the firm's private equity funds' portfolio companies on operational and related issues, and assisting the firm in analyzing potential private equity investment opportunities. He is currently a Director of Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE: EK). O'Neill served as the 72nd Secretary of the United States Treasury from 2001 to 2002. Previously, he was Chairman and CEO of Alcoa (NYSE: AA) from 1987 to 1999, retiring as Chairman at the end of 2000. He was President of International Paper Company from 1985 to 1987, where he was Vice President from 1977 to 1985. O'Neill was on the staff of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget from 1967 to 1977, serving as Deputy Director from 1974 to 1977. He worked as a computer systems analyst with the U.S. Veterans Administration from 1961 to 1966.

O'Neill received his B.S. in Economics from Fresno State College in California, and his M.S. in Public Administration from Indiana University.

 

Raj Persaud, Ph.D.

VP, Marketing & Applications

Varian Semiconductor Equipment

Persaud has been a member of the Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates (VSEA) executive team since 2006. At VSEA he is responsible for driving the company's Strategic Plans, Technical, Corporate and Strategic Marketing, and Global Applications. Prior to VSEA, Persaud spent 8 years at KLA-Tencor where he held several senior marketing and applications roles including Vice President of Marketing for the company's largest division. He was also a consultant to the executive team at several public and private high technology companies.

Persaud received a combined honors BS in Physics and Applied Mathematics and a PhD in Physics from York University, Toronto. He also served as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Fellow at the University of Sussex in the UK and Rutgers University in the US. He is the recipient of several academic awards, and has published over 30 papers in refereed journals during his academic career.

Andrew P. Seamons, Chairman of the Board of Directors

Pittco Capital Partners, LLC

Seamons is a partner of Pittco Capital Partners, LLC, a Memphis, Tennessee based private equity firm.  The firm is privately held by J.R. “Pitt” Hyde III, the founder and former chairman and CEO of AutoZone, Inc. (NYSE: AZO).  From September 2000 to October 2002, Seamons was a partner at the venture capital firm of Paradigm Capital Partners, LLC.  From October 1999 to September 2000, Seamons served as a vice president of LendingTree, Inc., a North Carolina based Internet lending marketplace, where he served as general manager for that company’s business-to-business services organization.  From July 1992 to October 1999, Seamons served as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company.  Seamons also serves on the board of directors of Internet Pictures Corporation (NASDAQ: IPIX) and Memphis Networx, both Paradigm portfolio companies, and LaneScan, Report on Board, and Monogram Food Solutions. 

Seamons holds an M.S. in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School and a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Duke University.
